The Most Overrated Food Trend Everyone Pretends to Love

Introduction Trends have always been a part of culture, whether it was perms in the 1980s or the recent boom in energy drinks. With TikTok blowing up during Covid, trends started spreading faster than ever. From fashion sensations to food hacks you “must try” to dances that land you on the For You page, there’s always something new taking over. One popular food trend right now is the infamous “cloud bread,” which I strongly believe is overhyped, and I’ll explain why. The Reality Cloud bread is a fluffy, dome shaped, usually pastel colored piece of bread. It is mostly made of sugar, whipped egg whites, and cornstarch. Its fame came from the looks and easiness of the recipe. Though there are positives, the videos surfacing on TikTok show the process of making it, and directly after it is taken out of the oven, not 5 minutes after. That part is not shown because at that point it is usually deflated into what looks like a colorful pancake that now feels like rubber.  Not...

The Messy, Smelly, and Awkward Snacks You Should Never Eat in Public

Introduction Whether you’re an outgoing extrovert who never gets embarrassed or a quiet person who tries to stay under the radar, there will always be moments when food becomes your worst enemy, which is exactly why some snacks just don't belong in public. I've rounded up 3 foods that don't belong in public, 1 messy, 1 smelly, and 1 awkward to save you the embarrassment. Messy If there’s one snack that makes more of a mess than it does squash the hunger, it’s Takis. No matter how hard you try, you'll always have the need to wipe your hands or worse, lick them. The orangey crumbs have a way of hiding in the nooks of your clothes, and while you try to brush the dust off, it only ends up smearing the color across your outfit. In a matter of a minute, you look like you came from a crime scene, hands  covered in red and clothes stained with red stripes. Not only this but now everyone can tell what you ate, a reminder that this snack is best saved for home.   Smelliest  Th...

Childhood Snack Glow-Ups

Introduction Everyone has their classic childhood snacks that they still think about or even still eat.  Classic childhood snacks never go out of style, but our taste buds grow up. Here’s how to keep the foods you love and give them a grown up, glow up. 1. Dunkaroos  For some, the sweet-and-crunchy duo of Dunkaroos is just too good to leave in childhood. Luckily there's a healthier, more grown option with some graham crackers, greek yogurt, and honey. This trio will perfectly match the snack ability and keep the sweetness alive through the graham cracker and honey. -Break apart a couple graham crackers into the 4 different thin pieces -Scoop a couple spoonfuls of greek yogurt into a separate bowl -Drizzle some honey on top of the yogurt  -Dip in and enjoy! 2. Fruit Roll-Ups Fruit Roll-ups remain a classic throughout my life, but whenever my mom decide we needed to be healthier she would make dehydrated fruit leathers. Don’t worry, the sweetness is stil...
