Introduction
Whether someone is cheering for a sports team or arguing why their most used condiment is the best, there will always be a fan base. Condiment fan bases will always certainly be ride or die type of people. In this blog I intend to explain the different types of ride or dies for different popular condiments.
Ketchup
The ketchup fan base is very loyal and has very protective people. If someone says they don't really use it or don't really like it there is a big chance you'll hear, "What! How could you possibly not like ketchup." Ketchup lovers don't usually just love it for fries and hamburgers like most people, they find ways to put it on foods like pizza, mac and cheese, rice, and steak. Many people would say ketchup lovers don't just love of the sauce, they almost have a classified addiction.
Mayo
Most mayo lovers are okay with the fact that they will be flamed for loving it. When people argue that it’s disgusting and sticks in the mouth, the usual comeback from mayo lovers is: "Well, that’s why your sandwich is dry and mine isn’t." They don’t have much else to support why it’s better. Mayo is known as one of the most debated condiments, with two opposite sides and not many in between.
Honey mustard
Honey mustard isn’t as straightforward as ketchup or mayo; honey mustard lovers are under the radar, quiet but loyal. Others will never know if their friends are honey mustard lovers until they ask a waiter for an extra side of honey mustard for their salad or chicken fingers. Critics believe that it’s just too confusing, too sweet to be mustard and too sharp to be honey, but the fan base will kindly just laugh and say, "It’s the perfect mix!" Unlike the other two condiments, honey mustard usually won’t spark a heated debate, but its fans are loyal enough to convince everyone to at least try it once.
Pesto
Out of all the condiments in this blog, pesto’s fan base is the most unique. Instead of picking fights or sticking up for their condiment, most treat it as a secret and like to gate keep it, but to those close to them, they’ll always recommend to try it on a sandwich or pasta. Some that have tried and didn't like say that the flavor is too strong or "green" for their taste but to those that like it that's exactly what makes it so special. This quiet fan base will celebrate with those who agree and simply nod their heads with those who don’t, all while thinking, ‘Tomato sauce just won’t cut it anymore."
