Foods That Deserve a Warning Label

Introduction You know those red signs on children's toys that say "choking hazard"? Honestly some food deserves that same treatment. No, I am not talking about the obvious ones like grapes or lollipops, but instead everyday foods that usually wouldn't bat an eye. Grab some water and let's dive into 3 foods that absolutely deserve a warning label.  Mozzarella Sticks  This one shouldn't be too surprising when you actually think about it. People look for the mozzarella sticks that the cheese stretches so far it doesn't break, also known as the ultimate "cheese pull".That being said, when you take a bite, the cheese can be so thick it refuses to break apart, sometimes it just slides straight down your throat in one unbroken chunk. The only way out? Either a desperate gulp or a coughing fit strong enough to launch the cheese back up. I remember this happening to me back in elementary school, and I was traumatized for nearly two years, so trust me, th...

3 Dream Sodas the World Deserves

Introduction Throughout the past couple of years more and more sodas have surfaced, each year becoming more unique. Brands are becoming more adventurous and wanting to introduce flavors to people that they might not have ever heard of. From fruity fun to dessert filled sodas, here are three sodas I believe this world deserves.  Honey Lemon Soda At first this might sound weird, honey and lemon soda should be invented. Many people around the world are almost addicted to soda, but when they get sick, they often have to put it aside and switch to soothing drinks like lemon or honey tea.  If honey lemon soda were invented with all of the same benefits that tea has then soda lovers would be so much happier. I strongly believe that there is a market out there for this, and this world deserves a taste of it. Banana split Soda Imagine having a drink that captures all of the most amazing parts of your favorite dessert, a banana split, but without ever needing a spoon. This drink wo...

The flavor Fandoms

Introduction Whether someone is cheering for a sports team or arguing why their most used condiment is the best, there will always be a fan base. Condiment fan bases will always certainly be ride or die type of people. In this blog I intend to explain the different types of ride or dies for different popular condiments.  Ketchup  The ketchup fan base is very loyal and has very protective people. If someone says they don't really use it or don't really like it there is a big chance you'll hear, "What! How could you possibly not like ketchup." Ketchup lovers don't usually just love it for fries and hamburgers like most people, they find ways to put it on foods like pizza, mac and cheese, rice, and steak. Many people would say ketchup lovers don't just love of the sauce, they almost have a classified addiction. Mayo Most mayo lovers are okay with the fact that they will be flamed for loving it. When people argue that it’s disgusting and sticks in the mouth, ...

Flavor Hills I’ll Die On

Introduction Everyone has good opinions, some spicy enough to start arguments with others. In this blog post I will introduce my flavor hills that I'll happily take to my grave. These takes aren’t out there, but they get way more hate than they deserve. Breakfast For dinner Breakfast for dinner is a tradition in my family. Once a week, we will make biscuits or cinnamon rolls with bacon, eggs, and fruit. As someone whose favorite meal is breakfast this is my favorite day of the week, with unmatched sweet flavors while still getting all of the needed nutrients that you would get from a "classic" dinner. Double downing on breakfast will never be a guilty pleasure, forever just a pleasure. Ketchup on Eggs People love to hate on this one, but I'll forever defend it: ketchup belongs on eggs. Since the first time I tried eggs, my parents put ketchup on it, now I won't eat it any other way. The sweetness of ketchup covers up the off-putting taste in eggs that makes some ...

If this is your fav...

Food Crimes That Deserve Jail Time

Introduction Everyone has different taste buds and preferences, but some choices are widely considered "food crimes." Here are a few I believe are so bad they deserve jail time. Milk For Dinner Yes, I get it, you may have grown up drinking milk a lot, but that’s because kids need the extra nutrients for their bones. Milk is full of protein, calcium, fat, and vitamin D, but it doesn’t need to crash dinner. Instead, it is much better paired with meals at breakfast or even dessert. The sweetness of milk matches much better with cereal or waffles, versus the salty savoriness of hamburgers or spaghetti. Milk with dinner isn’t just strange, it’s a textbook food crime. Not Breaking the KitKat This one is not just a crime, this gives me a cringe. KitKats are literally designed with perfect snap points for a reason: a satisfying break and a neat bite. Ignoring that and just chomping straight across multiple rows is just crazy. The snap is part of the ritual, part of what make...

The Most Overrated Food Trend Everyone Pretends to Love

Introduction Trends have always been a part of culture, whether it was perms in the 1980s or the recent boom in energy drinks. With TikTok blowing up during Covid, trends started spreading faster than ever. From fashion sensations to food hacks you “must try” to dances that land you on the For You page, there’s always something new taking over. One popular food trend right now is the infamous “cloud bread,” which I strongly believe is overhyped, and I’ll explain why. The Reality Cloud bread is a fluffy, dome shaped, usually pastel colored piece of bread. It is mostly made of sugar, whipped egg whites, and cornstarch. Its fame came from the looks and easiness of the recipe. Though there are positives, the videos surfacing on TikTok show the process of making it, and directly after it is taken out of the oven, not 5 minutes after. That part is not shown because at that point it is usually deflated into what looks like a colorful pancake that now feels like rubber.  Not...
